Dakota Blue Richards was born in England. She's most famous for her roles as Lyra Belaqua in "The Golden Compass' and Franky Fitzgerald on the third generation of the British teenager drama Skins. The actress has also been active on stage, performing in productions of plays like "Arcadia" as well as 'A Streetcar Named Desire'. Richards is from London and grew in Sussex. Richards attended a handful of acting classes at school but mostly received acting lessons on the weekends. Additionally, she opted to skip classes to attend auditions. The first time she appeared on screen as an actor was "The Golden Compass. Though the film got only a moderate response, Richards received widespread positive praise regarding her performances. The following year she debuted on the screen in the movie Dustbin Baby.
