
Under the direction under the direction of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they spent some time on Boston's clubs circuit. The group began working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). They signed a record deal in 1972 and debuted their eponymous debut album in 1973. The album was immediately followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This earned Aerosmith international recognition and fame. These albums were the inspiration of iconic hits like "Dream on", Walk This Way and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. The band began to feel the consequences of their fast-paced life of touring, recording as well as living together, and also using substances as the decade advanced. Tyler and Perry were sometimes referred to as the Toxic Twins, for their legendary intake of stimulants and heroin. Aerosmith Behind the Music includes numerous videos that showcase their bond. Tyler was reportedly more committed to Aerosmith and appeared to dislike Perry's aloof attitude. Perry, however, liked Tyler's choices for women in her life. Aerosmith's decline in popularity was likely caused by the tension between Tyler and Perry and their former friends.
